Skin Tightening

Infrared (IR) therapy is a safe, effective and non-invasive method that can bring back that fresh, toned and firmed appearance. It does not cause photosentivity and can be done during summer time. Non-invasively IR tightens loose skin, promotes healthy collagen production, and improves your body’s contours. Five sessions of therapy 2 weeks apart are needed for maximum result.

“As we age, our skin grows looser and laxer. This can be reversed thanks to the newest  nonsurgical and  painless technology in skin tightening called SKINTYE by SCITON.

How does IR/RF work?
During treatment, your doctor will precisely heat an area of the inner layer of your skin using IR/RF technologies, while simultaneously cooling the outer layer of skin. As the inner layer is heated, a natural reaction occurs, promoting the creation of new collagen. The result: a return to the smooth and elastic skin of youth. SKINTYTE can treat all skin types including African American skin.

Where can IR/RF treatment be applied?
SKINTYTE can be used to treat loose sagging skin anywhere on the body. The procedure is frequently used to treat the thin, loose skin often found on the neck and under the upper arms. It is also excellent for firming skin on the abdomen, thighs, chest, thighs and breasts.

Treatment – what to expect
During procedure, your doctor will use SKINTYTE to precisely heat the skin’s inner layer (dermis), while its outer layer (epidermis) is continually cooled. Depending on the size of the treated area, treatment may take up to 20 to 45 minutes. Following treatment, you can immediately resume all routine activities. You may notice slight redness, which should disappear in less than 1/2 hour. Generally, four or five treatments at two-week intervals are required. The results last for years.

When should I see results?
This heating action causes the deep structures of your skin to slightly tighten right away. After 4 months , new collagen grows to further tighten your skin, yielding even more beautiful, natural looking and firmer skin.

Does it hurt?
Most people tolerate SKINTYTE treatment well, and have no discomfort. Patients often describe the sensation as a warm massage. The procedure is not accompanied by any significant side effects.

The SKINTYTE Advantage
The market is full of products and treatments claiming to have skin tightening benefits. None, however, live up to these claims. On the one hand, topical solutions, creams and lotions do not penetrate the skin, and can render only temporary and superficial effects. Surgical procedures, on the other hand, are invasive, accompanied by risk and relatively long recovery periods. Using selective dermal heating, SKINTYTE stimulates the production of new collagen, and improves skin surface texture. SKINTYTE treatment is quick, and does not require anesthesia or a prolonged recovery time. Patients can resume their normal activities immediately. Best of all, SKINTYTE skin tightening treatment provides steady improvement with long-term results.

How much my investment will cost?
The fee is based on the extent of area treated. For example: treatment of double chin, neck, face,or hands is $150/session, neck and chin, lower belly, inner thigh, outer thigh, love handles, or chest is $200/sesssion.

Excessive sweating

THERE IS effective treatment!
Hyperhidrosis, excessive sweating, is a medical condition that is treatable.

Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a condition that affects millions of people around the world. Uncontrolled sweating can occur in various parts of the body including the face, hands, feet, or underarms. Although high temperatures or stress can increase perspiration, they do not cause hyperhidrosis. Rather, hyperhidrosis may be an inherited trait that stops the body from properly regulating its temperature. Or it may be a symptom of other conditions such as anxiety disorders, thyroid malfunction, nerve damage, or menopause. It can also occur as a side effect of medication. It is therefore important to get a proper diagnosis by an expert to rule out any underlying cause before starting treatment.

BOTOX® is deemed safe and effective when used correctly by a specially trained doctor.

BOTOX® is a purified natural protein obtained from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum

Medical Chemical Peels

During this procedure, acidic agents that remove the damaged skin’s outer layer are applied. Medical peels can have higher concentration of medications as compared to peels offered at regular spas. Thin scabs form over the treated areas within 2-3 days and fall off a few days later revealing smother, younger-looking skin. Mild acne scarring, fine lines, some types of irregular pigmentation, and other minor skin blemishes will be minimized and the new skin will be smooth and fresh looking. Three types of chemical peel are available: a light peel, which is used to lighten superficial age spots and fine wrinkles; a medium peel, for more advanced sun-damaged skin and age lines; and a deep peel, which helps correct more severe conditions. Your doctor will determine which technique will be more effective for you.

Chemical peels can be applied to your skin under the care of a physician and licensed aesthetician. Dr. Taerri also offers Laser Resurfacing (aggressive exfoliation).

Chemical Peel Procedure

The procedure is outpatient and most patients can drive themselves to and from this appointment. The chemical solution is applied to the skin in the office for a short period of time and a mild burning sensation usually follows that goes away after a few minutes.

BOTOX® is a purified natural protein obtained from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum

How does BOTOX® work?
BOTOX® works by blocking the chemical signal from the nerve to the target tissue, which in the case of hyperhidrosis is the sweat gland. As the sweat gland is no longer stimulated by the overactive nerve, the sweating stops. Since the drug only works in the area where it is injected, sweat glands in other parts of the body function normally. There is no risk of getting overheated. It is highly effective. On average, each treatment will effectively reduce sweating for 7 months.

BOTOX® has been used for many years to treat other diseases. Like muscle spasms affecting the eyes, neck and limbs BOTOX® is also used to relieve muscle spasm in children as young as 2 with cerebral palsy. The long-term safety of the drug is well proven.

The procedure is very simple – a small volume of the drug is injected by a very fine needle intradermally to the affected area. That means the needle is placed just under the skin, and the discomfort is therefore quite minimal. Most patients report that it is very tolerable. You can also opt for some local anaesthetic cream if you are really concerned about needles.

How much does it cost?
BOTOX® treatment for excessive sweating is often covered by private health plans. For patients who are not insured, the cost of a typical treatment is around $500 to $800.

You should notice a significant reduction of sweating from the treated areas within a week of your treatment. There is a possibility that some sweat glands may be missed and that you may continue to experience some sweating from the untreated areas. If you do not get significant relief, you should contact the doctor who performed the treatment and ask for a follow-up consultation or possibly a “touch-up” treatment.
Your excessive sweating will slowly return over a number of months, each person is different, but on average, patients require another treatment in about 7 months. When you feel it is time for another treatment, simply call the doctor for an appointment.

The effects of BOTOX® wear off over a period of several months. If you decide not to have any further treatment, there will be no lasting change in the treated areas. Sweating will gradually return to its original level.

You should not have BOTOX® treatment if you have conditions requiring special care

  • You are allergic to BOTOX or anyhting in the preparation
  • you are allergic to BOTOX® or anything in the preparation
  • you suffer from a neuromuscular disease
  • you have an infection at the intended site of injection

You should take special care if:

you are taking antibiotics which may interfere with neuromuscular transmission

Make sure you tell your doctor if you are taking any medications. Your doctor should also know if you are pregnant, are planning to be pregnant soon, or are currently nursing a baby.
